Breast Cancer Sisterhood – Race for the Cure
The Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure is a coming together of the “sisterhood” in Breast Cancer.
Check out my thoughts regarding the controversy, the participants, and the day we spent together. The strength in the survivors keep bursting through.
The Amazing Breast Cancer Survivors
What a beautiful day for a walk with the mountain scenery and seeing all the survivors was very humbling. The women I met and celebrated with were strangers on our first contact and sisters within a few minutes. Having and going through this journey has really taught me the true bonding and caring that happens as we come together as a community.
Are you a Breast Cancer Survivor?

Controversy for Susan G. Komen
Regardless of what the controversy is with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Race for the Cure brought together women of all races, ages, social status and religions with a common theme…breast cancer. You can’t be upset when you are at the event and able to hug complete strangers as you acknowledge that we are fighters and we will be there for each other. Remember in the breast cancer fight…you are never alone!

You couldn’t have asked for a better day for the race. It would be interesting to go back twenty years and see what the number of survivors were then compared to now. Although it seems like were many pink shirts were in the crowd, I think that is the point. The fact that there are so many survivors is a real reason for optimisim that a cure will be found sooner rather than later.
I couldn’t agree more Steve…there is always meaning behind any controversy or event if you only open your eyes and your heart. 🙂
